Them is an AI companion app for adults. Your chat history, friend profiles, memories, reactions, and selected photos are stored locally on your device.
Information we process
We process your Sign in with Apple identifier, purchase and credit records, device push token, timezone, quiet hours, and encrypted background-conversation context. Recent conversation context and any photo you choose to send are transmitted through our service to OpenAI to generate replies and images. OpenAI does not receive your Apple identity token. Text-generation requests disable OpenAI response storage.
Why we process it
We use this information to authenticate you, generate your AI friends and conversations, deliver notifications, verify purchases, prevent abuse, provide safety moderation, and operate the service.
Storage and retention
Operational account data is stored with our infrastructure providers. Background context is encrypted. Pending notification events expire automatically. Local conversations remain on your device until you delete them or the app. Photos selected for a message are transmitted for that reply but are not added to our account database. Deleting your account in the app removes your server account and associated operational records.
Your choices
You may change quiet hours and activity, disable romantic storylines, delete your friend group, or permanently delete your account from the You tab. You may also disable notifications in iOS Settings.
Age and safety
Them is intended only for people 18 or older. It is companionship, not therapy or emergency care.
